About
An independent Android studio
Flight Tracker is made by Appers Systems, a small independent Android development studio based in Pakistan. We are not an airline, not an airport, not a booking site, and not owned by any of them. We build and publish our own apps on Google Play, and this is one of them.
Being small shapes what we do. We do not have a sales team briefing us on what to claim, and we do not have the budget to build the kind of hardware network the largest apps in this category own. What we do have is the ability to be precise about a narrow job and finish it properly.
Why this app exists
The most common reason anyone opens a flight app is not aviation enthusiasm. It is standing in a car park, wondering whether to go in yet, because someone you care about is on an inbound flight and nobody has told you if it is late. That person needs four things fast: is it on time, when does it land, which terminal, and which baggage belt.
Plenty of apps answer that eventually, behind a map you did not ask for, a sign-in you did not want, or a paywall on the one number you needed. We built Flight Tracker to answer it immediately — a flight number or a route, then status, times, gate, terminal and baggage carousel on one screen. Every lookup is free, no account is required, and the interface speaks 15 languages with an instant switch, because the person waiting at arrivals is very often not reading in English.
The other two people we build for are the traveller mid-journey who needs a gate and a connection risk, and the occasional browser who wants to see what is flying over a region. The app serves the third one last, on purpose.
Where we stand on claims
This category has an honesty problem. Store listings promise coverage they do not have, inflate airport counts, and imply capabilities that require hardware the developer does not own. We have written down the rules we hold ourselves to, in the app, in the store listing, and on this website.
- No invented capabilities. If a feature is not in the shipped app, we do not describe it, tease it, or imply it. We do not claim capabilities that depend on networks of ground receivers picking up signals broadcast by aircraft, because we do not operate anything of the kind.
- No fabricated proof. No invented ratings, review counts, download figures, awards or press mentions anywhere on this site or in our listings. If we ever quote a number, it will be one you could check.
- Honest about what a status feed can and cannot do. Our flight data comes from Aviation Edge, a third-party API. That means our information can lag the boards at the airport, some fields arrive blank, and coverage is thinner for charter and regional services. We publish that on the data and accuracy page rather than burying it.
- Real numbers only. Airport coverage is 4,000+. An earlier version of this site quoted a bigger figure; we corrected it rather than defend it.
- Weather is a general forecast. Airport conditions come from Open-Meteo, a consumer weather service, and are not an official aviation weather product.
- We tell you to check with the airline. For anything time-critical the airline is the source and we are a copy. Saying so costs us nothing and is simply true.
How the app is paid for
The free app carries advertising, and there is an optional weekly subscription that removes it. Flight data itself is never held back: every search, every flight detail screen, every airport page and the map are free, with no sign-in. We say this plainly because the honest version of our model is a genuine selling point, and pretending to be ad-free would be found out in about ten seconds.
